How strong is your rope? A powerful metaphor in the Qur’an (3:103) describes a Muslim’s connection with their Lord. And hold firmly together to the rope of Allah and do not be divided.

To love someone is to know them deeply – not just surface details but the depth and essence of who they are: their unique attributes, the truth of their being, and their very nature. True love requires a profound understanding, a connection that transcends the obvious. So, how well do we truly know the One we claim to love the most? What if this love demands more from us than we have ever considered? Because to love Allah (SWT) is to grasp His boundless mercy and magnificence, recognise His perfect justice and majesty, for only then can our love and humility towards Him flourish.

Understanding Allah (SWT) in this manner leads to a vital reminder: life is not just a series of random fleeting moments; it is a journey back to Him – a test and a preparation for what lies beyond. And while Jannah is indeed an exceptional reward (what the eyes have not seen, the ears have not heard, and the minds cannot imagine), there exists an even more profound aspiration. This is because the greatest reward in the afterlife is not Jannah itself, but it’s the honour to behold our Creator – the One Whom created that very Jannah.

This poses a question, however: Do we possess such a love for Allah (SWT) that brings in us a longing for that moment – knowing that true love is reflected in our choices and actions?
